2018 Peking University International Nursing Conference

  

  On the occasions of the 120th anniversary of Peking University and the 106th anniversary of Peking University Health Science Centre, 2018 Peking University International Nursing Conference was held by Peking University School of Nursing from 20 to 21 October, 2018 at Taishan Hotel, Beijing.

  The conference was co-hosted by six affiliated hospitals of Peking University, which were Peking University First Hospital, Peking University People's Hospital, Peking University Third Hospital, Peking University Hospital of Stomatology, Beijing Cancer Hospital, and Peking University Sixth Hospital.

  “On behalf of Peking University School of Nursing, I would like to extend my warmest welcome and heartfelt thanks to all leaders, experts, and scholars at home and abroad. I hope that during the conference, we will carry out full communication and in-depth discussion, contributing wisdom and strength to the course of promoting Healthy China strategy through nursing, developing “Double Top-class” nursing discipline through interdisciplinary integration and innovation, and cultivating Chinese nurses to lead the future,” said chairperson of the conference, Dean and Professor Shaomei Shang of PKUSON in her welcoming address.

  Experts and scholars from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore and other countries and regions attended this conference. Besides, leaders from the Ministry of Education and the National Health Commission of China, Deans of the School of Nursing in domestic and international institutions, and top experts in related fields were present in this event.

  During the conference, our honored guests attended the opening ceremony, main session, parallel sessions and/or the Dean’s forum, including President-elect of the National League for Nursing & Professor of Nursing School of Health Sciences Center, Texas Technological University; Barbara Stilwell, Executive Director of Nursing Now, World Health Organization; Wipada Kunaviktikul, Dean & Professor of Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University, Thailand; Debra Anderson, Head and Professor of School of Nursing and Midwifery, Griffith University, Australia; Smi Choi-Kwon, Dean & Professor, School of Nursing, Seoul National University, South Korea; Wenkai Li, Chief Representative of the China Medical Board (CMB) and other distinguished experts.

  In total, more than 500 medical leaders, government officials, health practitioners, academics and students attended this special occasion, and collaboratively addressed timely issues concerning “Global Health and Nursing”, “Elderly Rehabilitation and Nursing”, “Midwifery & Maternal and Newborn Health Care”, “Chronic Disease Management and Nursing”, “Research and Practice Exploration of Cancer Care”, “Lead Education Innovation with Education Standard and Evaluation”, and “Evidence Translation and Implementation”.

                            

  Deans and Experts at the Dean's Forum

  

  The conference has helped attendees understand the advanced concepts in the field of international nursing and the latest developments in the domestic nursing, establish a platform for knowledge exchange and promotion, and promote the cooperation between Peking University and other universities, international organizations and research institutes.
